Family-run business.
We Wetters have been earning our livelihood by growing fruit for over 50 years: our father Rudolf started in 1956. Which means that our family business already has its own tradition to look back on.
The trade press frequently calls us "quality fanatics". "An obsession with care and quality that is legendary", is what top restaurateurs say about us. We really don't see it that way. It's just that we're very passionate about nature, fruit and distilling – enthusiasm not satisfaction: we're absolutely positive that you can taste it.
Our business is located in northern Lower Austria, in the Pulkau Valley, on the border between Waldviertel and Weinviertel. The terroir here – i.e. the combination of climate, soil and landscape – is characterized by sparse, sandy, limey soils that are sometimes full of prehistoric rock and which experience great differences in temperature during the day and night – all of which have a particularly positive effect on the aromas developed by the fruits.
